Getting Used To Life At Home

We haven't blogged in a while... Evan came home on Tuesday and we've been getting our rhythm down. We seem to be doing alright. Not bad for a couple a newbie parents!

Now that we're back online with you we can share some of latest news.

Evan had his first bath at home yesterday! Mommy and daddy shared the duties as all hands were definitely on deck for the first attempt during this momentous occasion. As you can see Evan was VERY excited to be taking part.

We managed to get him clean, not have him swallow any water and didn't get any shampoo in his eyes. All In all a good time was had by most.

Later that day we had some visitors. Uncle Warren, Aunt Chelle and cousin Erik came for a visit to meet the newest member of the Kase family.

Warren and Chelle seemed pleased to meet him and couldn't take their eyes off of him. Who could blame them. Erik determined that his new cousin was, in his words... "awesome!" Again, no argument here. We even posed for a portrait of all the Kase men... Gary, Evan, Erik and Warren.

The other Kases don't live far away so we're hoping that we all get to see each other often. Gary's been an Uncle for 10 years now. Now it's Warren's turn. So we all look forward to years of fun gatherings!!!

Congratulations Gary and Carrie!
What a great birth date for Evan Joseph, 04-04-08. Mine is 08-08 (no need to provide last 4 digits as they are from the previous millenium) and I have always felt it was special. At the very least easy for my parents and my husband to recall. Evan is a real cutie, you are very blessed to be able to spend some time together at this early stage in his life. Bud called Dick and Jeannie last night to find out whether there was any news yet and Dick sent us the link to your blog site. What a terrific way to keep in touch with your friends and family (and former neighbors like us), especially those who live in another city or state. Soon, as Bud and I did, you'll be looking around your neighborhood for babysitters for Evan. I hope you will be as blessed as we were to find such a wonderful family as the Nelsons with 3 fun kids to fill that role fror our 3 youngsters. Keep in mind that some days may be difficult but you're not alone in that. Eveyone doubts their parenting abilities. Just reach out to someone to listen when having a bad day and know that this too shall pass. Fondly, (Lynne) Roxanne and Bud Makepeace

Ah, the infamous first bath. Sounds just like our experience, and with a picture of a screaming baby to prove it. : ) I'm enjoying your posts, it's really bringing back memories of Elsa's newborn days. Looks like you guys are doing very well, and again I just can't get over how cute Evan is!!
