Another day in the life of an almost 2 year old

Sometimes, after a long week of playing with the kids at daycare and grocery shopping with mommy, Evan just needs a little rest. He was so sound asleep here that mommy brought him in from the car and took off his jacket. He still didn't move after standing him up.

On the other extreme of wakefulness, we found yet another way to get giggles. In case you didn't know, "ah moy" means more. More food, more tv, more playing, etc.

Making the most of the long winter

Recently, we went to an indoor playground. It had several huge blow up play areas and there was one especially for toddlers, seen in the foreground. Evan spent maybe a total of 10 minutes in the jumpers and enjoyed the play area seen below and looking at the arcade games. We're sure this will be a favorite sometime in the future.

Here, Evan is "driving" a train at the childrens museum. This display was not here the last time we came here about a year ago so it's nice to know that they vary. His favorite activity is still the water display where he gets soaked. The cold water doesn't bother him at all.

Our little laugh machine

Not surprisingly, Mommy and Daddy love to hear the little dude laugh and recently we found another way to get the giggles going. Other ways guaranteed to get results include playing chase, tickling, tummy toots. Also, our sweet little boy is always so happy to see us. He comes running to us with his arms out.

I want to be a big boy

Brushing our teeth has become a highlight of the evening routine. We're sure it has to do with having access to the counter and to the faucet. Whatever the reason, we like that Evan's developing this habit. His technique needs some refining. Eating the toothpaste is his main goal so mommy has to move the brush back and forth herself.
If mommy or daddy leave their chair out after dinner, little Evan can't wait to get up on it.
How appropriate.

Adventures in snow

Winter seems like it lasts forever yet it's hard to find time for outdoor fun. We got a foot of fluffy snow awhile back but it was so high that Evan couldn't walk or play in it, well, at least not with all the layers he had on. The next week was way to cold, we couldn't possibly have enough layers to keep warm. The next week, the snow was melting. Now we only have a light layer on the ground.
