Fun new games

Here are Evan's newest fun things to do, he can't just do them once or twice but 10 or 12 times in a row. He's getting up onto his feet much more now but is still very wobbly. The crib mattress is at the lowest setting, wobbly or not. The picture shows how much he likes to keep his lovey close by. We have two of these, in case of loss or laundering of one, very smart investment.

Josh and Aimee visit 2009

Cousin Josh and Aunt Aimee came for another visit and we had so much fun, just like before. Of course, we went to the playgrounds to test out all the play equipment. One day we went to the zoo and saw lots of gorillas and baboons and even an aligator. The first night we went to dinner at 2Toots where the food arrives via toy train. That went over very well with the big boy as you can see.

These next few pictures and videos are of our trip to the childrens museum. There was so much to see and do we ran out of time. Everything was miniature, just to fit little bodies and large imaginations. Evan's already learning the computer so he can teach his parents how to use it in a few years. The next pic is of the boys having tea for two. Josh looks so calm but he really was going at top speed the whole time. The first video is of Evan and Daddy having fun with blocks and the last video takes place in the veterinarian's office for stuffed dogs, cats and gerbils.

First haircut

Evan was very excited about the car chair, he was turning and pulling on the steering wheel. The haircut was started and he did well before he realized some strange lady was doing something to him. Then the crying and squirming commenced.
It's a good thing these ladies work fast. Mommy and Daddy agree that he looks cute in his first "boy" haircut. The chubby cheeks look even chubbier.

I like my teddy bears

There's never any question whether someone Evan's age likes or dislikes something. What do you think he feels about his teddy bears? And to be so flexible when you're this size. Once he fell asleep in this position, mommy had to make sure daddy saw it just so he'd believe it.

Hello Easter Bunny

Happy Easter. We didn't do an easter egg hunt, they just showed up in the basket. Evan did so well at church, he even got a little nap in, that is until all the clapping. Then he got to meet the easter bunny, there were no tears, just a lot of staring. It was a lovely day all around.

Look at what I can do

Evan's newest skill is putting his building blocks together, he just started doing this himself the other day. He's very good at playing by himself as long as he's well rested.

Happy 1st Birthday

Can you believe it? It's been a whole year since our boy Evan made his grand entrance. He really liked his Elmo book, his soft gorilla, and all the nice new clothes. He was a little wary of this thing we call cake but as you can see he took to it eventually.

He's been so busy cruising around the house, rolling his balls of all sizes, pushing the buttons on his toys. He's also been trying out new sensations like clapping his hands, turning his head and body from side to side, and getting up onto his knees. What will the next year bring? On the health front, Evan is still in the 75th percentile for length (18 1/4") and just under the 50th percentile for weight (22 lbs 3 oz). I guess all that food is being burned off from all the crawling. We have noticed that his potbelly doesn't look as big lately.
