Keeping busy

We've been enjoying the nice weather and the enlarged deck. No more splinters in little hands and feet and plenty of room for playhouses and climbers. And in other news, our little boy, I guess he officially hasn't been a baby for a few months, took his first steps. The look of amazement on his face is only matched by ours. He still does laps with his walker but he's been doing more and more without it.

Little buddies

Our babysitter has 3 little ones of her own and the youngest, Christopher, is only 2 months younger than Evan so he has a little friend to play with everyday. Look how well they share. Today was a fun day because they are wearing their matching tropical shirts.

Best patient ever

Evan had his 15 month doctor's visit and he was a model patient. He was so interested in the doctor and what he was doing that he didn't cry or squirm during the entire exam. The doctor was even able to check his reflexes which he said he ususally can't do at this age because kids won't sit still. He also said this was one of the easiest exams he's ever done! Evan's rate of growth and weight gain have slowed down (for now). He's 23 lbs 3 oz (sometimes last year he gained a pound a month and this time he's gained 1 pound in 3 months) and 31 inches. That puts him under the 50th percentiles which is also new for him. Apparently, constant activity burns off a lot of calories. The video shows just another new talent.

Happy 4th of July

This picture and video aren't really related to the 4th but they were things we did this weekend. We read a book before going to the fireworks which Evan which did not scare Evan, in fact, he was mesmerized by them. That was the latest he's ever been out. This weekend has also been filled with walking and more walking, the legs are getting quite a workout.

Second haircut

We weren't planning on posting pics of the second haircut but this one got a little shorter than we thought. We call it a summer cut. Mommy was more concerned about possible crying or squirming during the actual haircut. Happily, there was neither. For some reason, the cut makes him so much more little boyish, or maybe it's the walking, climbing (!), and talking.

Here is Evan's best Sammy Sosa impression. Listen closely to the background music, we couldn't have planned it better.
