A HUGE WEEK!!!

Well, we're in the middle of winter here in cold and snowy Chicagoland. The car show is in town and Evan has picked out his ride... he likes the big, bad truck just like his Uncle Reid. He looks right at home behind the wheel. There's NO WAY we're giving him keys for at least another 16 years!

In other news we've discovered that we have cabinets. And by "we" we're talking about Evan of course. In this picture it happens to be the living room's entertainment center. He seems to be saying... "Hey, Mom and Dad... there's stuff in here!"

And exactly ten seconds later... mommy and daddy made a change in our living environment which we know is JUST THE BEGINNING!

Thankfully we went to "Babies R Us" recently and bought a selection of anti-Evan locks, latches and outlet plugs... we had a feeling!

And last but not least... we've buried the lead story!

Check out the following video!

Favorite toys

Lately, one of Evan's favorite toys are some plastic balls that we put in a box and he can watch them roll through the box and come out the bottom. He seems endlessly fascinated to see them roll around. Mommy and Daddy like that this is a good old fashioned toy, no batteries required and we're getting so much use of this simple toy. We like to share fun times like this on the blog. Recently, Evan got his first and hopefully only case of infectious conjunctivits, also known as the dreaded pink eye. We're done with it now but putting medicine in the eyes was hard on everyone.

I still haven't figured out how to keep my knees from falling out under me but I've discovered a can make a full circle. Watch me! Oh, I'm also helping sort mail in this video.

Scenes from a 9 month old boy's life

I am now officially 9 months old. I grew to 29 1/2 inches and now weigh 20 lbs and 12 oz. That puts in me the 80th percentile and 50th percentile respectively. I'm always doing something, it if isn't sleeping or eating it's playing, talking, rolling around or standing (of course I need help with the standing). I'm not crawling yet but who knows, maybe I'll skip that and just start walking one of these days. I like every food I've tried except for the plain yogurt. Cheerios are still a favorite, see below.

I love to examine everything, I feel it with my fingers, taste it, shake it. I like to bang things together and I like the toys that make noise. My teeth are so sharp, sometimes I bite right through mommy's clothes and leave a mark! Peek a boo makes me laugh every time, I even lean around the corner when I know mommy or daddy is there. I'm very ticklish around my neck, my (pot) belly, and even my feet. Speaking of feet, I like to rub them back and forth when I'm sitting on the floor. I just learned how to clap my hands.

Just another example of how I entertain mommy and daddy. See you soon.

Baby's first Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone. Evan was a very happy baby on Christmas morning, just like every morning. He wasn't all that interested in the boxes or wrapping paper, his favorite gifts were the ones he could chew on. He is a very lucky boy, though, he got so many nice gifts. He'll be the best dressed boy at daycare, he has many new books to read, and a new toy box to put his new toys. We are very blessed and hope everyone had a wonderful day.

Winter wonderland

It wasn't the first snow of the season but the first time everyone was home to see it together and we just got our snowsuit recently. Evan didn't do anything except look around, obviously we need to get a sled but he doesn't know that. We have to have fun in the snow to make up for Mommy's 4 hour commute the other day, good thing she didn't run out of gas! By the way, if you enlarge the top picture you can see my top teeth, I just got 2 more for a grand total of 6 teeth.

Compare and contrast

It was only a few short weeks ago when Evan first met Santa. His second encounter, at daycare, was much shorter and involved tears. Evan got a good look at Santa before he sat on his lap and we think that made the difference. I don't think Santa will take it personally, he knows that Evan was a good boy this year.
