This was part of the K-5 Christmas music program
Evan's artistic rendition of the nativity, complete with a rabbit

"One day Joseph and Mary took a long trip to Bethlehem to be counted."  These were performed at the kindergarten class nativity play.

This year's sugar cookies had a lot of M&M's on them.

Anatomy 101

We were reviewing basic body parts and when asked what the heart pumps, our little boy answered "Love?"

Family time for Thanksgiving

Our time with family was too short as always but we packed in as much as we could

We were able to get the kids to pause the video games just long enough to snap some pics.
It is wonderful for Evan to get to spend time with his great-grandpa
An Evan sandwich!

Once again we see why little boys have no body fat, they burn it all off playing

Paint facing

Here is Evan after paint facing, one of his new favorite things to do at the children's museum or at the zoo.  This work of art took 15-20 minutes alone.  By the way, this is Evan with one of the 5 girls who have expressed interest in marriage.  He hasn't made a decision and includes Christopher as a possibility.

50 days of school

In honor of the 50th day of school, there was a 50's party.  There was themed outfits for the day and a sock hop.  Can't wait for the 100th day!

Soccer

This is Evan's first foray into soccer.  A gym full of high energy kids and a bunch of soccer balls and they're off.

Bad guys break into Daddy's car

The breaking of Daddy's car window and the theft of his bag lead to many observations by the young man.  Here are a few examples:
"The robbers might not be at their destiny, they might be going to China"
"Bad guys have to go to jail for a long time"
"The police should know who the robbers are since they wear masks down to their necks"
"Maybe they used their fists to break the window"
"Batman would beat up the bad guys"
"Daddy will have to buy a new briefbag and new important papers"
When Evan was told that robbers like to steal money he said that he wants to take the money from his piggy bank and put it in the big bank the day after he turns 6.

Wisconsin Dells in the fall

Tommy Bartlett's exploratory let Evan put his head on a plate and lift a truck
A playground for big and little boys.

Legoland

This is Evan's new favorite place.  He spent hours building, racing, and re-building lego cars.

New fun stuff at the pumpkin farm

Evan spent a lot of time in this corn box and you can see it was very popular.  We found corn in socks, pockets, even Mommy's bag afterwards.

We're moving up...to Kindergarten

Here he is, (almost) ready for his first day of kindergarten.
Mommy would like to point out that not all the boys had such nice new shoes.  Evan had oxfords and a tucked in shirt just like the parent manual said.  The day started with a welcome from the principal and a blessing from the priest, ending with the Lord's Prayer.  Don't think they did that at the public school.

Lost tooth #1

Mommy was instructed to leave the window open overnight so the tooth fairy could come.  The other lower front tooth is also loose so she might come again soon.

Our visit to the racecar museum

 Look, it's Lightning McQueen's friend.

 Guess who's in first place?

Who knew these places existed?

Bring on the 4th of July parade

Here they are with their bags ready to collect candy.  2 more friends from school joined us this year.

Local fishing event

Daddy's persistence paid off!

"It's T ball, Daddy, not baseball"

Very first game.  He knows where to run, when to run, and pounces on any grounders.  Maybe next time he'll let someone else hit first.  I guess he likes it.

Memorial Day happenings

Do these kids look familiar from parades and other outings?  Today was a Memorial Day 5K for adults and a 1K for kids.
They had bananas, water, bagels and...Tootsie pops (?) after the race.

So, the start of the race was a little chaotic.  Evan does run in front of the camera, look for the white stripes on the side of the pants next to the girl in the pink shirt, the same girl he ends the race next to.

Pre K graduation

With some of his best buds.  Between the 3 of them, they have enough energy to fuel the whole city.

Lilac time means...parade!

Evan really wanted to wear the earmuffs in case any loud noises came unexpectedly.
Watching a parade, eating some snacks, life is good

Daddy and me spring time activities

Getting ready for t-ball this summer.

This picture is so misleading, Evan didn't really help much.  It just looks so cute.

5th birthday party

Yes, a shower of candy is worth screaming for.
