Arkansas visit 2009

We had another wonderful visit in Arkansas, staying with Grandpa and Grandma. Evan had a lot of fun playing with them and managed not to break anything (except maybe Grandma).

We also visited with cousins Josh and Kinsey. Evan seemed to like more of Josh's toys than Kinsey's, he is such a little boy. There were so many fun trains, fire trucks, and cars that Evan skipped his afternoon nap that day. Both kids were very sweet to baby Evan, giving him lots of hugs.
We were also very happy to see great Grandpa, Evan was very comfortable with him and gave him a big hug right away.

This was also a big weekend for Evan, he starting walking (with a lot of help). The video shows Grandpa giving a hand. Before now, he'd stand but never took those first steps. He still prefers crawling for speed. This last pic was taken at the hotel in St. Louis where we spent one night on the way home. We're calling it "Master of all he surveys".

Lilac parade

As the lilac village, there are many local events this time of year. The largest and most popular is the parade which caught and held Evan's attention. It was Mommy and Evan's first lilac parade but Daddy used to march in it as part of the high school band. The loud music and sirens didn't even scare our little boy. It was a beautiful day for a parade.

Not so wobbly anymore

This weekend has been very busy with standing up over and over again. On the ottoman as you can see but also on the couch, bed, stair spindles, his upright toys, etc, etc. It still surprises us to look over and see him standing up looking back.

Fun new games

Here are Evan's newest fun things to do, he can't just do them once or twice but 10 or 12 times in a row. He's getting up onto his feet much more now but is still very wobbly. The crib mattress is at the lowest setting, wobbly or not. The picture shows how much he likes to keep his lovey close by. We have two of these, in case of loss or laundering of one, very smart investment.

Josh and Aimee visit 2009

Cousin Josh and Aunt Aimee came for another visit and we had so much fun, just like before. Of course, we went to the playgrounds to test out all the play equipment. One day we went to the zoo and saw lots of gorillas and baboons and even an aligator. The first night we went to dinner at 2Toots where the food arrives via toy train. That went over very well with the big boy as you can see.

These next few pictures and videos are of our trip to the childrens museum. There was so much to see and do we ran out of time. Everything was miniature, just to fit little bodies and large imaginations. Evan's already learning the computer so he can teach his parents how to use it in a few years. The next pic is of the boys having tea for two. Josh looks so calm but he really was going at top speed the whole time. The first video is of Evan and Daddy having fun with blocks and the last video takes place in the veterinarian's office for stuffed dogs, cats and gerbils.
